I think that patients listen to their clinicians and so if the clinicians are not aware of the alternatives available in their community, they can't recommend. For example massage. The cost may be an issue for patients.

Support system : We are a rural area and resources are very few, area home health's often offer community education related to pain management or disease specific mangement at our nutrition centers
